Hi, I’m Katie Fisher and over the last 15 years I have been going into people’s places and helping them find peace by bringing order to chaos. I’ve seen things that don’t work and the stress and anxiety that come when things get out of control.

I’ve also seen the freedom and peace that comes when people reduce the noise and chaos in their lives. And when people get their things in order, it opens them up to a better life – to create a life they love by doing the things they love and not drowning in things they don’t.

A few weeks ago, I was asked to call someone in my neighborhood to speak for 5 minutes at a church activity. I was so intimidated to call. Can’t I just text her? She’s an older lady and I don’t even know if she does that. Plus, if she had questions it would make more sense to call her. It’s not like she’s a mean lady. She lives across the street from me and is very sweet. It’s not about her, it was me. I even knew she would be willing to do it if she was free. I carried this phone call like a weight for 2 weeks. 2 freaking weeks! Over that 2 weeks I was avoiding the person who asked me to call. What if she asked me about it and I had to tell her no I hadn’t and own up to being a chicken. I drove past my neighbor’s house just about every day, secretly hoping I would catch her outside. Alas, it was winter, in Northern Utah. I even thought it would be easier if I just planned and gave the dang presentation myself. How long would that have taken? The talk alone was 5 mins, plus writing it out and practice time. You know that when I finally called, it took 2.5 mins. That was it. I multiplied the effort of a 2.5 min call into 2 weeks. What a mess. This was a mess that was under the surface, that ate at me for 2 weeks.

Let’s be real, we all have messes. Whether they are seen or not, we have them. They are data. Speaking of data, our brains are like computers. When there are too many tabs open at once it starts to lag. Have you ever had mental lag? Felt like you could use a reboot?
